British Interests in palestine in the nineteenth century

Abstract

This paper deals with certain aspects of a wider subject which the present writer has recently been investigating under the auspices of the University of London. The wider subject is the British cultural influence in the Near East in the nineteenth century. Palestine is dealt with here because British activities were mostly concentrated there.
