Abstract: | The idea of ‘poetry for the people’ came into existence around 1930, with Progressive Writers Movement (PWM) in India. As India was struggling for its Independence, people from every lingual-cultural community came forward to join this movement of progressive literature. The motive and purpose of this poetical movement was to connect with people at large through poetry and other forms of literature, so that awareness for progressive culture could be created. |
