Abstract: This personal presentation based on my experience of living in Goa from Sept 1962 to Sept 1965 is an interface between biography and history. I have tried to relive those days to understand the spirit and ethos that prevailed during the transition from the stifling dictatorship of the Salazar regime to the fresh winds of freedom and expectation that followed in the wake of Liberation. The personal and historical perspective is revealed from the vantage point in which I found myself as the wife of a senior official of the Govt of India.
