Abstract: Nehru’s view on caste-based social exclusion reveals that many of his ideas overlap with those of his far more radical contemporary Ambedkar though his attempt at finding the solutions to problem was in tune with Gandhi. Nehru sought to Jawaharlal Nehru’s View On Caste-Based Social Exclusion 45 build India on the basis of political, social and economic revolution and the central concern of the social revolution was annihilation of the caste system. Indeed, the central concern of Nehru’s democratic socialism was equality of opportunity and the removal of the caste system. Without these principles it has no meaning.
