Abstract: | The forties of the last century was a period of awakening and resurgence in the hill areas of North-East India. The sudden advent of the Second World War, which saw global military powers fight for supremacy outside their doors (north east India was one of the major theatres of the war) and even dragging them into this bloody war, was a rude shock to the hill people. |
