Abstract: | To map the histories of women, one would have to place them in dialogical relation within, between and among cultures and nation. The formation of mentalities, as an interaction between economic, political, socio-cultural and religious structures, needs to be understood more clearly. In the Indian context, it may be difficult to clearly distinguish between religious, magical or traditional beliefs, as they occupy complementary domains in tl1e space of social cognition. |
