Poetry as Dharma Re-visioned: A Study of A.K. Ramanujan 's Poetic Discourse

Abstract

In the (Post)-modern context of decentering and dispersal, the very invocation of the term dharma to study and analyze contemporary poetry might appear quite anacharonistic and blatantly medieval. But in the Indian context where culture is not merenostalgia but a living space, a tangible continuum, dharma as an important input of culture continues to be a way of life that cannot easily be brushed aside as mere medieval hangover.
