Abstract

The past decade has witnessed a marked revival of interest in Royce's philosophy and this is as it should be. Regardless of current fashions and the most variable winds of doctrine, no thinker who has grappled with major issues can long remain in the shade. We may criticize and we may modify his doctrine, but we cannot neglect the philosophical and religious problems that formed the basis and driving force of his thought.
