| Abstract: | After this article had been passed for press, it was with deep regret that we heard the news of the death of Major Campbell on March 31, 1953. He had recently been stationed near Benghazi in Libya, where he had been interested in local Arabic folk-lore. His death is a great loss to the study of Arabic dialects. |
