dc.description.abstractThe Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund decided last year to introduce an annual Memorial Lecture to be delivered by a distinguished speaker on the eve of Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary every ye?r. The first lecture was delivered on the 13th November 1967 by the eminent British Scientist, Prof. P. M. S. Blackett, President of the Royal Society. His lecture was greatly appreciated by a large and distinguished audience, and the Memorial Fund now has pleasure m l?resenting the text to the wider reading public.-
