Abstract

I need hardly enlarge upon the often-stated theme of the British possession in the Persian Gulf; how it is Great Britain, who has policed those waters, who has adjudicated upon the quarrels between natives on the coast, who has surveyed the waters-in fact has done everything for a hundred years or more to make the Gulf a thoroughfare for trade.
