Abstract: | The I.S.T.D. was founded in 1931 for the study and treatment of delinquency. Its first concern was to organize a Psychopathic Clinic for the examination and treatment of delinquents, which at the same time provided a service of Court Reports on recommended cases. In 1948 the Psychopathic Clinic was taken over by the National Health Service under the title of the Portman Clinic, and the I.S.T.D. |
